# Format & Quality

|
Choose the **file type** and **quality**.
|
|
|
|
- **Render Mode** — one **video** file, or a numbered **image sequence** (PNG/JPG).
|
|
- **Codec** — the video format. **H.264** is the safe, compatible default; **HEVC** is smaller; **ProRes** is
|
|
for handing off to an editor; **HAP** is for VJ playback. H.264/HEVC use your GPU (NVENC) when possible — the
|
|
line under the dropdown shows which encoder your machine will use.
|
|
- **Bitrate** — higher means better quality and bigger files; the hint translates it into a quality label.
|
|
- **Export Audio** — include the project's soundtrack as an audio track.
|
|
|
|
