## What you get
|
|
|
|
The `project` template scaffolds a package-first elizaOS project:
|
|
|
|
- `character.ts` — your agent's identity and plugin list.
|
|
- `src/` — runtime entry point and any custom code.
|
|
- `package.json` — wired to `@elizaos/core` and the default plugin set, plus a `dev` / `build` / `test` script set.
|
|
- `bunfig.toml`, `tsconfig.json` — build config.
|
|
- `.env.example` — required env variables for the included plugins.
|
|
|
|
Optional local-source mode (`ELIZA_ELIZA_SOURCE=local`) links against a repo-local `eliza/` checkout so you can patch upstream alongside your project. Set `--skip-upstream` to opt out.
|
|
|
|

`bun run dev` starts the agent + dashboard. There is no `eliza start` — running an agent is a project script, not a CLI command.
